End Of Year Wrap-Up

2024 has been a hell of a year. It’s definitely had its share of highs and lows.

The best part of this year, for me, was getting married to the love of my life at an underground waterfall deep within a cave and celebrating with our friends and family to the accompaniment of a fire-dancer and juggler before going on a weeklong roadtrip.

There were some lows this year as well: mostly health issues with ourselves, the dog, and family members.

One thing that is neither a high nor a low is the fact that I didn’t complete the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge this year.

Shocking I know, especially if you look at my Goodreads and see the number of books I actually read. But sometimes life and stress can get in the way of accomplishing your goals.

Not going to lie, I thought about fudging these last few books with vague happy thoughts and words from synopses.

But you don’t always accomplish everything you intend to within a day or a week or a year. And that’s okay. For now, those last few books have been relocated to my TBR shelf.

Life can be complicated and chaotic. It can be frantic and fun, surreal and surprising. We can only strive to make each year, each day, better than the last. And just maybe, spread some positivity along the way.
