So I have been away from the blog for about a month. That’s a little less than eighty-four years, but so much has been going on it feels like it has been four score and four years.

If you follow me on the socials (which you definitely should by the way), then you may already know why.

I got married! Please see below for an accurate representation of my mother’s reaction the second they presented us as husband and wife

Our wedding was absolutely magical. Here were the vibes: pagan fairy princess bridal look, druid/ Victorian Santa officiant, secret underground ceremony, medieval feast hall reception. With that in mind, here are some things we had at our wedding that just made sense: lace wedding dress covered in white and pink flowers, groom in a solid black suit, handfasting ceremony at a waterfall inside of a cave, cake shaped like a white castle, coat of arms tapestries behind sweetheart table, court jester who juggled and ate fire during dinner, and lots of moss and candles on the tables. That’s just to name the things that might be considered more unusual.

It all felt like something out of a fairytale, and it doesn’t quite feel real yet that I am officially married to my best friend.

As much fun as it all was, I am glad that the stress of planning and executing it all is over and that life can settle into a slightly different version of normal.

I have so much reading, writing, and reviewing to follow-up on. Not to mention lots of projects to finish with my full-time job, some mild drama with my part-time job, and the fervent desire to make a wedding scrapbook.

Idle hands are the devil’s workshop. No rest for the wicked. And all that. Have you ever noticed that those two phrases sound contradictory? There is no rest for you if you are wicked, but if you allow your hands to be idle then the devil makes use of them. I’m going to go on a etymological Google deep dive.
