This is one of those books where, as soon as you read the premise (a female grim reaper who has to pretend to be a normal private investigator) ,you have to read the entire thirteen book series. Our main character, Charley Davidson, is full of snark and wit. If you enjoy the humor of the Stephanie Plum series, then this is right up your alley.

All of the side characters dig their way into your heart. There’s the best friend and assistant, the mysterious love interest, and the cop uncle who needs help on his cases.

Speaking of the love interest. Boy oh boy is this man hotter than sin. Definitely a bad boy. So if that is your thing, then this series will definitely strike your fancy.

The stakes build quickly throughout the series until the entire world is at stake. Our characters try desperately to keep themselves caffeinated and in one piece while coming up with seemingly ridiculous plans to do so. Who needs a voice of reason anyway?

The entire series is such a fun ride. Every book has laugh out loud moments balanced with heart-wrenching and gut-punching ones. Its relationships, both romantic and not, are well-developed and prioritize each others wellbeing. This isn’t to say that the relationships are perfect, but the issues within them are dealt with in very realistic and empathetic ways.

This is a series I will definitely reread so be sure to check it out.
