The Princess Trap: A Positive Perspective

If you were anything like how I was as a child (and still am a bit, not gonna lie), you were obsessed with princesses. Not just Disney princesses but all of them. We had that Pretty Pretty Princess Game growing up (if you don’t know this game, seriously Google it), and I picked it every single time it was my turn to select the game for game night.

And like most girls who grew up during Prince Harry’s single days, fantasized about meeting the royal and becoming, of course, a princess.

This is not the motivations behind our main character. Cherry is a confident, sexy woman with a kilowatt smile who is a master manipulator. Now, when I saw manipulator, I do not mean it in a negative way at all. She is able to use her charisma and charm to take control over situations and resolve them.

Talia Hibbert is just so stinking talented at creating these badass boss babes. These beautiful and bold black women manage to be funny and clever and relatable all at the same time.

Oh and the romance aspect *chef’s kiss*. It is the perfect balance between taking charge and prioritizing consent. There is just something about a man lifting you onto a counter top…

The chemistry is believable. There is an appropriate level of tension with the plot. There is an actual plot with stakes which is always a great thing.

You should just read this one. Let me know what you think.
